Valldemossa: stone village house with terraced garden

Set on a lane that climbs from the cobbled centre of Valldemossa, this 195 m² stone house was restored in 2019 by a Mallorcan architect with a brief to restore rather than renovate. The original stone walls, chestnut beams and reclaimed clay floors have been kept; the contemporary intervention is limited to discreet glazing, integrated lighting and a single kitchen-and-bathroom block.

The ground floor opens onto a stone-walled entrance hall, a 32 m² sitting room with the original Mallorquin fireplace and an open kitchen finished in cream cabinetry and a stone-topped peninsula. The first floor accommodates the principal bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a small private terrace overlooking the village.

The second floor includes two further bedrooms and a family bathroom finished in honed limestone. A dedicated study with vaulted ceilings occupies the converted attic.

Outside, a terraced garden of 140 m² is planted with lavender, rosemary, and a single mature olive. A discreet plunge pool of 3 by 6 metres has been integrated into the lower terrace, with stone seating and an outdoor kitchen.

Valldemossa offers a year-round community, the Cartoixa monastery and direct access to the GR-221 walking route. A piece of inventory for the buyer who values quietness over visibility.
